1. CAN I GET THE KIND OF TREATMENT I NEED WHEN I NEED IT?                                          

Absolutely! Natural to conventional the choice is yours.

 

2. CAN GREENSURANCE REPLACE MEDICAL INSURANCE?

GreenSurance is a buying co-op only. However, once enrolled in a co-op alliance health plan can you replace health insurance.  

 

3. WHAT DO I SAY TO MY HEALTHCARE PROVIDER?

Ask for the office manager and use this simple introduction; 


"Hi my name is ______________ I wanted to introduce myself and a health plan buying co-op called GreenSurance. While you may have not heard of it before it works like health insurance but better. Like a credit union for health plans it's a coalition of nonprofit co-ops who are my 3rd party payer for healthcare costs. The details are at mygreensurance.org. In the "PROVIDER" section are the details of how the co-op serves you as a provider. 

 

I would like Dr. _____________ to be my provider if your office will accept the co-op as payer once my out of pocket is met. I'd like to give you a chance to look over the information where providers can enroll for free.......... Before I make an appointment, I'll call with my co-op contact so you can verify my plan is active and my out of pocket is met......What's a good time to call back to get an answer?

4. HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

GreenSurance is $249.99 annually. Co-op alliance one-time admin fee is $165.00. Health plan cost details are here.  

 

5. CAN PEOPLE WITH TERMINAL ILLNESS BE PART OF THE COMMUNITY?

People with terminal illness can be part of GreenSurance. However, terminal illness is pre-existing and is not included in the health plans. But healthcare needs not related to terminal illness are included as nonrelated. For more details click here item 4

 

6. How Do I KNOW THE COST SHARING CO-OP HAS THE MONEY FOR MY MEDICIAL COSTS?

Cost sharing has the same foundation as health insurance - which has reinsurance. In the event the fund is wiped out, reinsurance backs the pool to ensure member healthcare costs are paid.

10. WHAT IF MY PROVIDER ISN'T IN YOUR NETWORK?

GreenSurance is building a provider network but the alliance co-ops have no network. To serve members we are building a netowrk in 2016 and our members can help us by spreading the word.

 

11. AM I COVERED FOR TREATMENT OUTSIDE THE U.S.?

12. WHO CHOOSES THE TREATMENT?

You choose your provider and your provider diagnosis and creates a treatment plan the co-op pre-approves. 

 

13. HOW ARE MY HEALTHCARE COSTS PAID?

Reimbursement to a state licensed providers; MD, DO, ND, Chiro., etc. are electronically submittedor by mail or by fax. Reimbursement is 30-45 days. Providers who refuse co-op as payer can be paid by the member and the member can be reimbursed by the co-op.

 

For treatments from unlicensed providers, a licensed provider must be reimbursed and can pay the unlicesed provider as part of the treatment plan co-op pre-approved. 

 

14. WHAT IF MY PROVIDER ONLY TAKES CASH?

You can apply for reimbursement or find a cooperative provider.

 

15. ARE THERE LIMITS ON THE AMOUNT COVERED?

Co-op 1 Limit - $5,000,000.00 

Co-op 2 -$1,000.000.00 per incident in a single health issue  

 

16. DO YOU OFFER A DENTAL?

Not at this time.

18. WHAT IS SHARED IN CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE?

Cost sharing for conventional medicine includes;

 

  • Physicians

  • Specialists

  • Urgent Care

  • Clinics

  • Emergency Room

  • Emergency Transport

  • Prescriptions

  • Rehab

  • Physical therapy

  • Hospitals - inpatient and outpatient 

  • Surgery

19. CAN I LOOSE CO-OP PRIVILEGES?

Yes. Any member who defaults on the monthly amount is suspended. Two consecutive months and all benefits are lost and the person must pay admin fee again and health qualify. Defaulting on the GreenSurance annual membership is also loss of co-op privilege. Defrauding the co-op is permant ban without exception.  

 

20. IS THERE A HEALTH SCREENING FOR APPROVAL?

Yes. Each co-op has a health questionnaire and provisional membership is offered by Co-op 2 at the higher amount in the range provided when increased risk is present:

 

  • Tobacco in any form

  • Obesity - weight loss must occur - Must exercise regularly

  • Member must cooperate with a wellness program

  • Pre-existing is accepted with limitations (see health plan item 4

 

Denials:

  • Injuries from illegal activity are not covered

  • Abuse of alcohol

  • Abuse of prescription drugs

  • Prescription use not prescribed

  • Prescription dependency or abuse

  • Use of illegal drugs not limited to hallucinogenic substance, barbiturates, amphetamines, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, illegal intravenous drugs, or narcotics.  

 

21. What if I'm unable to make the monthly contribution or I'm late?

Late payments pause sharing benefits. Lapsed payemts over 60 days is automatic cancellation. 

 

22. WHO IS GREENSURANCE?

GreenSurance is a buying co-op for healthcare plans that include natural medicine. A fiscally sponsored nonprofit of PAPA (People Aligned in Positive Action) and MAMA (Maui Arts and Music Association) 501(c)(3) Maui, Hawaii TID# 99-0287771

23. Why are There 2 C0-op Enrollment Costs?

Each co-op expense is covered by enrollment donations. GreenSurance is not ACA compliant (in the works) protecting members from Obamacare penalties is a priority and can only be provided through the alliance.

 

24. Why Do I Need GreenSurance?

GreenSurance is the co-op for natural medicine healthcare. GreenSurance negotiates members benefits an individual can never achieve. GreenSurance is the community for people who want natural medicine as primary care. GreenSurance is the co-op buying power for healthplan freedom. 

 

25. Why Pay GreenSurance Enrollment Donation?

  • To fuel change we must invest in the change we want to see 

  • Membership represents collective buying power 

  • Combined donations fund co-op costs of operation

  • Together we fund the 'green healthcare plan' movement

  • Co-op revenue supports expansion of services in 2016

 

26. Why Are Donations NonRefundable?

As a nonprofit our members are crowdfunding a mission. We offer tax incentives not refunds and this decision has been determined by the advisory team the co-op holds to

 

27. WHY IS THERE NO PROVIDER NETWORK?

For 30 years cost-sharing co-op's have paid conventional healthcare costs without a network. Times are changing and people used to in network have requested us to create a provider network. To serve member needs, GreenSurance is building a provider network in the coming year.
